Hi! It’s been awhile and a lot of the usual cast was busy, but we’ve got another episode of The Electric Hydra Internet Radio Show ready for your earhole consumption. Hi all! This week, Anthony, Aaron, and Joseph join me in a bunch of discussions about video games. Like, for real. At the top, we talk about competitive StarCraft II and I fumble around while trying to explain what makes it appealing to me. We also touch on the campaign, which apparently is pretty good. Later, Joseph discusses the latest Gears of War fresh off ‘bargo and then I ask the crew what’s up with Metal Gear Solid Rising: Revengeance (or whatever it’s called.)

Gears of Metal Trouble In Heart Of the Swarm
NOTE: I’m super sick, so I sounded like garbage on the podcast. Also, my volume was turned way up. My bad. Still listenable and all, but I realize this wasn’t the greatest sounding episode we’ve ever put out. (I say this as if there was a bar; haha.)
Ever wondered about what Brad and Joseph were doing away from video games this lately? Yes? Great! Because that’s what we talk about this week at the top of the show. Later, we do manage to dive into some actual video game stuff. Dead Space 3 and the PlayStation 4 probably take up the most time, but somehow we managed to sneak in mentions of how terrible the latest Medal of Honor is and how great two upcoming iOS titles are. This week a discussion about Ni No Kuni launches into a 50-minute episode about JRPGs in general. Weird, right? We talk about the parts we love, the parts we hate, and the things we’d like to see from JRPGs moving forward. We also specifically discuss Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy IX, Lost Odyssey, and Final Fantasy XIII. We name-drop a few more as the conversation takes various twists and turns. Enjoy!
Joseph and I got together to do a little podcast. We ended up talking about a lot of sports and, maybe more surprisingly, an iOS game. I also kinda gushed about how much I’m into Binary Domain and The Darkness 2. Joseph also talks a little bit about his “problem” with video game domination. Dude plays the same game forever until he completely masters all of its systems and sees everything.

Hey guys,
So, this was a tough one that I had to think about for a bit, but it’s probably time to take down the message board. It’s just not best the way we communicate with each other at this point in the show’s life. We haven’t seen any new posts in a long time, and I haven’t been able to turn on registrations without a flood of spam. Social media is just so much more convenient and direct.
Plus, the message board software isn’t all that great. It’s been more of a burden than a tool over the last couple of months.
In the next couple of days, the board will silently go away — and so will the posts. In the future, we’ll move to Disquss for comments. That’s a really easy way to talk (outside of Twitter or Facebook or whatever) and there’s no crazy server strain, bulkiness, or anything.
It’ll be like a new start, which is refreshing in a way if you think about it.

On this week’s episode of The Electric Hydra Internet Radio Show, the cast and crew discuss more than a couple of games. At the top, we talk about why we don’t like “Hitman: Absolution.” Then, we do basically the same thing with “Assassin’s Creed 3.” Later, we brighten up a bit courtesy a mini-discussion about “Far Cry 2″ and our expectations for “Far Cry 3.” Also, we work in a little “Hotline Miami,” a personal favorite of all of ours.
