049 – Mini-Pod: ‘Mortal Kombat,’ Also Flamethrowers

1 Comment The Electric Hydra

In this week’s episode, we don’t talk about a whole heck of a lot. Time was short, so we blasted a Mini-Pod(R) packed full of short, punchy jokes and rushed video game discussion. We did manage to go a little deep with the new “Mortal Kombat,” though, so there’s that. Oh, and I also noted that “Quest For Glory” is a game while we were cracking jokes at dear Joseph’s expense.

Next week should be much more sane for all of us, so please do excuse the relative breeziness of this one. You can stream episode fourty-nine just below, or hey, you could also get the episode by subscribing to us on Zune Marketplace and iTunes. Only our finest do that and you want to be one of our FINEST, don’t you?

048 – ‘Portal 2′ Spoiler Cast

10 Comments The Electric Hydra

In this week’s episode we talk in-depth about Valve’s latest masterpiece, “Portal 2.” If you’ve yet to play it all the way through, it’s best if you go ahead and do so before you open your earholes to our awesome waves. Seriously. We spoil the hell out of this game.

There’s more to the podcast than spoiler talk. We do discuss the new “Mortal Kombat” and Jim brings up the oddest game I’ve ever heard of, a title called “Cargo.” Also, we answer your user questions. Here’s the timestamps that I promised in the show so you can safely avoid the spoiler zone:

WHAT: “Portal 2″ Talk
START TIME: 9:15
END TIME: 38:20

Give us a listen below or do the right thing and grab us on iTunes or Zune Marketplace!

047 – God Save The Web site (Also ‘Gears Of War 3′ Beta)

No Comments The Electric Hydra

This one might sound off if you’ve been following the Web site drama over the last few weeks. We recorded mere hours before the site’s re-launch, but during the show, we weren’t 100 percent certain the site and the feed would work. So, there are a lot of jabs about our junk not working. You’ll have to do with that!

Otherwise, Joseph and Jim got their talk on about the “Gears of War 3” beta, we spit a bit of game about Valve’s ARG, and I kept forgetting to mention Topher. Give us a listen in the player just below, or hey, download us on iTunes and Zune Marketplace.

NOTE: We’re back on schedule, so no more episode-a-day releases. Also, talk about this shit with our awesome community. Hit up our message board and drop in on the discussion.

046 – The Electric Hydra Returns

4 Comments The Electric Hydra

Last week’s episode of The Electric Hydra Internet Radio Show deals a lot with our past woes with the web site. After a bit, the conversation then shifts to my new workout routine, Game Freak’s “Pokemon Black,” the joys of “Red Faction: Guerrilla” and subsequent fears for “Armageddon,” and eventually my helicopter antics in “Battlefield 2: Modern Combat.” Also, Joseph says stuff about his ten or so minutes with “Divinity II.”

As the bumper at the beginning of the podcast says, now you can donate to The Electric Hydra. Give this post a read to learn how. We appreciate it. Also, direct download the podcast below or stream it beyond the break, and don’t forget to subscribe to us via iTunes and Zune Marketplace! All the cool kids are doing it!

045 – Girls With Overbites

No Comments The Electric Hydra

My man crush on The Rock reached critical mass on the original night of this recording, so Joseph Leray had to step in as host. Within the first few minutes, you’ll see why I’ll never let a wrestler and an expensive pay-per-view event get in the way of The Electric Hydra Radio Show On The Internet again.

On the subject of video games: Jim talked a bit about his impression of “SOCOM 4,” our main man Anthony went retro and discussed the original “Deus Ex” and revealed a hot, hot cheat for “Super Mario Bros.,” and Joseph had some things about “The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile” to say. Also, the cast and crew answered your user questions.

You can catch the direct download just below and stream beyond the fold, but please do subscribe to us over iTunes and the Zune Marketplace. Impossible to regret!

In this episode, we discuss nothing of any value whatsoever. The cat is out of the bag — we generated this podcast so we could get listed on the iTunes quicker. And you know what? It worked. It worked!

004 – Mini-Pod: ‘Super Mario Bros.’ [OLD]

1 Comment The Electric Hydra

I’m re-writing this post a year after the fact, so I feel like it’s cool to admit that we created this podcast, specifically, so we could get listed on Apple’s iTunes platform quicker. At the time, we were under the impression that you needed a total of FIVE podcasts in order to be considered for review. This mini-pod allowed us to hit that number within a night.

Anyway, In this episode of The Electric Hydra Internet Radio Show, the cast and crew discuss “Super Mario Bros,” and the fantastic design of the game’s first level. Also, franchise creator and all-around genius Shigeru Miyamoto comes up at some point. Neat!

003 – ‘Alpha Protocol?’ Not That Great. [OLD]

No Comments The Electric Hydra

In this week’s episode of The Electric Hydra Internet Radio show, the cast and crew give “Alpha Protocol” a decent tongue lashing. We also discuss other stupid junk like, for example, food-related child abuse, hot dogs, British words, and whatever else came to mind at the time. This episode marks the last original, full-length podcast until episode six.
